POST 7. AN EXPERT ON YOUR FIELD
Kengo Kuma,
born in Yokohama, Japan in 1954, now is one of the most important architect in Japan.
His first office was in Tokyo and his name was Kengo Kuma & Associates. Renowned
for use materials for his emotional content, his work has a deep relation with Japanese
tradition and his structural characteristic, they most of the time he uses wood,
but also stone, ceramic, bamboo, plastic, and vinyl.
I like this
architect for 2 reasons:
1. 1. The history
behind why he becomes an architect, I relate to his history and maybe there’s
more children and people that feel the same way. He became an architect because
he grew up in a dark, dirty, and an old wooden house, and unlike his friend’s
houses, all of them built with new materials, so he was ashamed of this house.
2. 2. The philosophy behind
the Japanese tradition, for him the respect the environment is an important
aspect and doesn’t want to stand out, try to connect the man with the nature through
the local’s material.
Examples of this Works:
The construction
system was inspired in the traditional woodwork of Japan and want to make an
impression of Japanese forest
